MORALE, WELFARE & RECREATION (MWR)

Client: U.S. Army Garrison-Stuttgart, Germany
Company: Army Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR)
Role: Art Direction + Graphic Design

Background:
The Army Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), a division of the Army’s Installation Management Command, is a comprehensive network of quality support and leisure services that enhances the lives of soldiers, civilians, families, military retirees and other eligible participants.

MWR manages and maintains facilities worldwide ranging from fitness and daycare centers, hotels and restaurants, while offering soldiers and their families opportunities to enrich their lives culturally and creatively through classes, sporting events and organized trips.

Task:
I was hired as an independent contractor in MWR marketing Stuttgart office, and was successfully awarded the contract  three years in a row through re-compete. I designed and produced posters, large format banners in support of the installations, services and events of the local U.S. Army garrison.

I also contributed designs and advertisements for the local garrison weekly newspaper "The Citizen" and the MWR's own magazine "First Choice".
